Blues is all about feel and interpreting emotion and then putting it into music. Something we love doing. Yes it can sometimes be downhearted, but it can just as easily be upbeat. Its amazing how often people in the audience say " we didn't think we liked the blues .....but this is somehow different and we've had a great time".
For us its all about versatility and range as well as keeping our own excitement for the music alive. We achieve this by playing songs we love that span the whole genre of blues. We might play country blues from the 20's and 30's, Chicago and Delta blues from the 40's and 50's, right through the 60's to more recent songs that might take our fancy.
Depending on the songs, you'll see us playing acoustic guitars, electrics guitars, slide guitars and harmonica. This is what makes it interesting for us and importantly, interesting for our audience. The music is definitely not a bundle of dull 12 bar blues and its very much a collaborative effort – it’s not about one or two virtuosos and a couple of backing musicians.
We take our music seriously, but we're not po faced about it. We know that an audience wants to have fun .......... as do we!
